I voted English Civil War (though it was quite close between 1066 and the unpopularity of the other option was a pretty big reason why). I chose this because I think we have looked at it more closely. This close examination has meant I have learnt more about the English Civil War. But the main reason why I chose the English Civil War (and almost 1066) was because of the battles, battles and battle stratergies really intrest me and so I think that played a big part because we looked at so many different battles (I perticulally enjoyed one that I looked at called Newark). But the reason why I finally chose the English Civil War and neither the American Civil War or 1066 was because for the American Civil War it was not about my country and for 1066 although I like medival weaponry more than guns an stuff we looked at more battles. Josh Boyes P.S Thanx 4 a gr8 Innov8 sir P.P.S And by the way ur £1 is safe although I have found out that I really liked the ancient Greeks P.P.P.S soz if this msg was 2 long and u wanted the reply to the question 2 b shorter

i voted for 1066 because it was the most enjoyable to learn about, after the lessons i would go away and read books on the subject (NB i have no life lol), it made me think that even in the c.11 people were still getting drunk, cavorting with women and gambling all their money away!

In my opinion, the \English Civil War was the most interesting time period that we have studied, although this is most likely because it is the area we have looked at most.

I voted for the English Civil war, being that it is the most interesting time period. This is becasue I think that although 1066, was interesting with the most famous battle; the Battle of Hastings, the English Civil war, effects us greatly even today, the event leading up to the English Civil war are i think more interesting than the actual war but that was not a choice. Because of it effecting us as a country this it makes it more interesting for me to study which ultimately makes it an interesting time peroid, for me at least. ;D

I voted ''1066'' this is because i found this time period the most interesting and most fun as i already knew information about King Henry VIII but it just gave me that extra bit of help to push myself further and know more information to try and make my level better.

I chose the English Civil war because I feel it had the most action within the Battles. This is also the main one I felt that I could understand and get my head round (sort of). It was also very interesting looking at different people around the worlds views. Not only global views but views inside the classroom were fantastic. To hear views from the people inside the classroom that made you think is just outstanding.

I chose the English Civil War because it was the most interesting because it contains a very complex web of events that all lik to each other and ultimatly changed the outcome which still greatly shapes out world today.

I voted for religious Rollercoaster, because religion was a big thing at the time. Henry VIII was the only King to rebel against the Catholic Church and that proved that he was brave.

Tie between ECW and 1066. I picked 1066 because it was under-rated (sp?), and it needed a vote to show it is favoured, whereas ECW has enough already.
I feel that 1066 was good because of the concept of actually fighting for the throne, rather than just the life of a fat guy sitting on one (no offence, Henry). ECW was similar, as it was a fight for power. The main thing I liked specifically about the two, was the flow of what was happening, having one movement cause another, like Charles taking Oxford instead of London as his HQ, which threatened him. A better definition would be William arriving late due to bad wind, which may have saved his behind and when during the battle of Hastings, a shield wall was made as a result of the Vikings battle tactic, despite being destroyed through ambush. There was very little flow in RR and the ACW is more like information than an occurance. In short, ECW and 1066 were focused around what happened, and although RR did that too, it was less interesting knowing that the only 'outstanding' things Henry VIII did was based around threatening catholicism. Religious Roller would come in 2nd place, if I were to rank it.

I voted for the English Civil War, as I believe it affects me personally the most and probably most other people living in Britain whether they were born here or not. It created significant change to our government and the way things are done. These changes are still in place today. Although however, that is not to say that the other options were insignificant events. They were all important and remain with us today in our governments (this is deliberately a plural, as the American Government is included) and some people are still sensitive about some subjects.
Responses to previous page - Hassan; admit it, it's because everyone died, and Sunesh, people name their companies after loads of famous things. It's just that the Civil Wars' names are too long. It isn't really easy to remember a company called "1640s English Civil War LTD".
